Nano Silver

Millimeter: one thousandth of a meter (0.001 meter)
Micron, or micrometer: one thousandth of a millimeter, one millionth of a meter
Nanometer: one thousandth of a micron, one millionth of a millimeter, one billionth of a meter

Nano-silver is the product of a new technology. Sometimes it is called ultra-small particle colloidal silver, but this is a misnomer. Nano-silver is a very different substance from colloidal silver, and it has a completely different therapeutic application. The nanological particles are so small that they belong to the atomic range. A nano particle is only a few atoms in size.

A nano-silver particle is easily able to enter a cancer cell, which would be impossible for colloidal particles to do. In every cancer cell the metabolism functions by fermentation. Fermentation cannot happen without microbial presence. Nano-silver is capable of killing the fermenting micro-organism within the cancer cell. As a result, the cell dies. Nano-silver, because of the very small size of the particles, is also able to cross the blood/brain barrier. If it is mixed with DMSO, it will be carried selectively into cancer cells. This is of vital importance for cancer patients.

At the present moment, the only nano-silver supported by documented test results is Nanosil10. This product is being distributed in North America under several different names:

The Journal of Nanotechnology has published a groundbreaking study (April 2004) that found silver nanoparticles kill HIV-1 and are likely to kill virtually any other virus. The study, which was conducted by the University of Texas and Mexico University, is the first medical study to ever explore the antimicrobial benefits of silver nanoparticles, according to Physorg.
During the study, researchers used three different methods of limiting the size of the silver nanoparticles by using capping agents. The capping agents were foamy carbon, poly (PVP), and bovine serum albumin (BSA). The particles ranged in size from 1 to 10 nanometers depending on the method of capping. After incubating the HIV-1 virus at 37 C, the silver particles killed 100% of the virus within 3 hours for all three methods. The scientists believe that the silver particles bonded through glycoprotein knobs on the virus with spacing of about 22 nanometers in length.
While further research is needed, researchers are optimistic that nanological silver may be the silver bullet to kill viruses and bacteria. The researchers in the study said that they had already begin experiments using silver nanoparticles to kill what is known as the super bug (Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus). Already used as a topical antibiotic in the medical industry, silver may now come under consideration as an alternative to drugs when it comes to fighting previously untreatable viruses such as the Tamiflu resistant avian flu.
How does silver work to fight germs? Simply put, silver is capable of destroying single-celled
bacteria, viruses, and fungus by disrupting the cell’s breathing mechanism. This action annihilates the organism’s cell membranes and halts DNAreplication. Fortunately, the complex cells in our bodies have very thick cell walls compared to most pathogens; the good cells in our bodies are largely unaffected by treatment. Within minutes, the invading cell is suffocated, to be cleared out of the body by the immune, lymphaticand elimination systems. Killing pathogens is only one of silver’s remarkable qualities. Silver is also known to heal wounds and can now be found in a variety of bandages and dressings, and is commonly used in a clinical setting for treatments of a variety of wounds. Recent studies also suggest it aids in repairing some nerve damage.
Silver nanoparticles could help fight hospital-related infections that afflict 2 million patients and lead to 90,000 deaths in the United States each year, experts told UPI's Nano World.
What is nanotechnology and nano-silver?
Nanotechnology is a rapidly growing science of producing and utilizing nano-sized particles that measure in nanometers (1 nm = 1 billionth of a metre). One nanomaterial that is having an early impact in healthcare products is nano-silver.

Silver has been used for the treatment of medical ailments for over 100 years due to its natural antibacterial and antifungal properties. The nano-silver particles typically measure 25nm. They have extremely large relative surface area, increasing their contact with bacteria or fungi, and vastly improving its bactericidal and fungicidal effectiveness.

The nano-silver when in contact with bacteria and fungus will adversely affect their cellular metabolism and inhibit bacterial cell growth. The nano-silver suppresses respiration, basal metabolism of electron transfer system, and transport of substrate in the microbial cell membrane. The nano-silver inhibits multiplication and growth of those bacteria and fungi which cause infection, odour, itchiness and sores
The only well documented nano-silver product on the US market is NanoSil-10. Here are some excerpts from their product description:

government groups and have been published in a congressional testimonial (April 2005). We are investing all available
funds in additional research through independent laboratories and clinics, with the intent to eventually reduce much
human suffering.

New Testing
NanoSil Solutions is constantly striving to gain new and important information on the effectiveness and uses of its
product. We currently have several new studies and a double-blind clinical trial 2 underway, with several more studies
already in the planning stages. The new studies include a major 2.5 year (peer-reviewed) alternative to antibiotics study,
direct human clinical tests at a number of hospitals in West Africa, along with a series of both bacteria and sporicidal
tests on Anthrax and SARS. Studies have also been conducted by VIRIDIS BioPharma Laboratories in India verifying the
"Viricidal Activity of NanoSil™ against Hepatitis B Virus & the Cytotoxicity of NanoSil™ along with the "Selective Inaction of
NanoSil™ on Probiotics".

Branches of the United States Armed Forces and certain international military forces are anticipating using the NanoSil™
to prevent wound infections in soldiers being evacuated from the battlefield. The US Military has been experimenting with
the product to prevent minor wound infections among its troops in Iraq, with excellent results. The product also quickly
healed some US Marines following food poisoning.

Foreign Drug Approvals
After conducting its own testing on NanoSil™, the Food and Drug Board of Ghana, West Africa, has approved our

NanoSil Solutions
has had five independent toxicity tests completed on its 10 and 22 PPM silver products. The NanoSil™
product was tested in animals at as much as 200 times the normal adult dosage, or the equivalent of an adult
consuming 32 full ounces of the 10 ppm product at one sitting. In conclusion to the animal tests, the independent
medical testing laboratory stated that the
NanoSil™ was found to be completely non-toxic to the test animals. The product
was also tested for cytotoxicity in both human epithelial cells and also African green monkey or Vero cells, at both the

Nano-silver is active against most pathogens, yeasts, fungi, mould and mildew. Nano-silver is used as antimicrobial substance to provide effective and complication free treatment for age-old healthcare problems.
Silver is an element and present in nature.  It is non-toxic, non allergic and non cumulative. Hence it is not harmful to wildlife and environment. It is environmental friendly.

The average colloidal silver particle is 10-25 microns sized. It is larger than most cells of the human organism. The nano-silver is a few nano-meters in size, several thousand times smaller then a human cell; it can easily penetrate the cell membrane, enter an infected cell, and kill the pathogen. Nano-silver is harmless to healthy cells. As glucose-fermenting microbes live in every cancer cell, nano-silver offers a very powerful anticancer weapon by killing the fermenting microbe, and reverting the cell to its normal, healthy state.

Does nano-silver cross the blood/brain barrier?

How can the cancer patient benefit from this product?

Nanosil is a powerful anti-fungal agent. Mixed with DMSO and applied either topically or orally, it can enter cancer cells and eliminate the fungal microbes that keep cancer cells alive. A DMSO/Nanosil mix is capable of entering the blood/brain barrier, and of penetrating the bone marrow.


The above information concerning the therapeutic efficacy of Nanosil-10 has been obtained from the manufacturer and from commercial distributors. The product is very new, and no third party scientific data is yet available to confirm the above statements. When the cancer patient decides to include this product into her treatment protocol, she must keep in mind that no independent confirmation and no peer reviewed clinical data are presently available. While there is no reason to assume that the manufacturer is not telling the truth, there is no proof that his claims are valid. Although the product is patented, please remember that the patent office does not investigate medical claims.

Because of the above mentioned reasons, we suggest not to take the efficacy of this treatment granted, until we can confirm it on our UPDATE/Latest News page.
